Following the unexpected announcement made by Shatta Wale that he was looking to retire, some social media users have reacted to the news with joy and readiness.
Shatta Wale took to Twitter to announce that he was going to literally 'hang his microphone' after he released his much-anticipated Gift Of God (GOG) album.
His tweet read: "THIS #GOGALBUM WILL BE MY RETIREMENT ALBUM. Made enough to go into new businesses and create employment for those who still want to follow the course!"
The tweet raised a lot of concerns from Shatta Movement loyalists who could not watch their king drop the mic and lock up his studios for good.
They resorted to begging the Taking Over hitmaker to rescind on his decision and wondered who was going to entertain them.
One of such comments from an SM fan read: "Retirement for the where @shattawalegh?? And which artist go entertain we .. don’t try this cos aside you it’s only the General @JupitarOfficial who can entertain we. You just want to leave us with borla from the other camps. I see you want to beef ur fans and we are ready hw3"
However, other social media users thought otherwise and welcomed the retirement decision as according to them, Shatta Wale was always producing sub-par songs.
One of such comments underneath Shatta Wale's tweet read: Thank God the asokpor noise making is going to end"
Another social media user who shared the same opinion wrote: "We are about to stop listening to bad songs wow wow Face with tears of joyFireFire issa Grammy for the motherland"
Another fan had this to say:
