The institution Sonnie Badu claims awarded him three degrees in four months, Trinity International University of Ambassadors (TIUA), has spoken about the issue.
In a statement the institution reportedly issued on Friday, April 9, 2021, it was explained that no student can obtain any major degree, including a Ph.D., in a spate of four months.
Yet to receive accreditation, TIUA says it prides itself in the quality of education tailored for each of its students that include their extensive body of work in ministry.
“TIUA makes no claims, implied or otherwise, that our educational programs, courses, or curricula are the same as offered by secular state colleges and universities. TIUA is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education. Credits and Degrees earned at TIUA are for those in Christian service,” the statement stressed.
“Therefore, any degree that has been earned by our students (Including Dr. Sonnie Badu), is in alignment with the State of Georgia religious exemption authority to receive degrees from associates to doctoral degrees,” it added.
The statement came on the back of the hullaballoo generated by Sonnie Badu's claims and his constant flaunting of some certificates on social media.
The curiosity of one Mr. Mensah led to Badu being exposed for lying to Ghanaians and the world about degrees he did not have.
After he was exposed, Sonnie Badu became angry and warned those trolling him to "be careful because it is not everyone you do this to."
He also said if Ghanaians do not change from this behaviour, the country would not move on.
The gospel singer run for cover when he flaunted other degrees to shift the minds of Ghanaians from his fake degrees.
