A 50-year-old man identified as Isaac Kojo Boampong has been stabbed to death by his cousin during a family disagreement.

The sad incident occurred at Bodada in the Jasikan District of the Oti Region.

The deceased was found in a pool of blood in the morning in his house on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, with multiple wounds on his legs and stomach.

In a report filed by the Ghana News Agency, the alleged suspect, Francis Brown, who stabbed his cousin to death has reportedly fled from the town after committing the heinous crime.

Confirming the incidents, Police Superintendent Lawrence Gbele of the Jasikan District Police Command said a search for the suspect has begun.

He, however, appealed to the residents in the community to assist the police with information to cause his arrest.

Superintendent Gbele said the body was recovered and sent to the morgue of the Hohoe Municipal hospital for preservation.

He said the Police have commenced investigations into the death.

In other news, a commercial vehicle popularly known as ‘trotro’ has somersaulted after chasing and knocking down two robbers who were escaping on a motorbike.

The accident occurred at Antieku, a suburb of Sowutuom. According to a report filed by JoyNews, the night police patrol driver in the jurisdiction received a call stating that there was an ongoing robbery.

The police said upon the arrival of some of their officers who proceeded to the scene, they found the two robbers in a gutter nearby with an Urvan bus involved in an accident at the spot.

Eyewitnesses said the two robbery suspects as at about 5 am on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, robbed a fruit seller and jumped on their motorbike to escape.

Several passengers on board sustained various degrees of injuries with four of them severely injured and currently receiving treatment at the Akawe Government Hospital.

The suspects who fell into a nearby gutter and sustained injuries have also been arrested.
