Despite the fact that former President John Dramani Mahama has stood for elections on two occasions and lost to President Nana Akufo-Addo, party stalwarts believe he is the right person for the job.

Even though some people have their reservations about Mahama representing the party in 2024, others also believe it is time for a fresh face to lead the NDC to victory.
In view of this, YEN.com.gh hit the streets of Accra at the American House area to find out from Ghanaians if Mahama should contest in 2024.
A man who is possibly in his 50's said it would be sheer greed on the part of Mahama to lead the party come 2024.
His argument is founded on the fact that he has risen from the grassroots through the various ranks to become president.
This according to the man, should be enough for anyone who has had a feel of political power from the grassroots to the ultimate portfolios in politics.
Another middle-aged man who was interviewed said he believes Mahama should still lead the NDC in 2024 due to his immense contribution to the infrastructural development of the country.
He went ahead to mention facilities like terminal 3 at the Kotoka International Airport, the Kejetia Market, and other notable facilities across the country.
He asked exactly what Akufo-Addo had done in his first term in the office.
A young man who shared his view on the matter said, looking at the stance of the NDC, their safest bet to win the 2024 general elections is John Dramani Mahama.
He said without Mahama, the New Patriotic Party will win for the third time in a row and end up breaking the chain of eight.
In other news, Ghanaian fashionista and super mom, Nana Akua Addo, has stated that she feels very honoured anytime people tag her as a “slay queen” due to her sense of fashion.
Nana Akua Addo, while speaking in an interview with Ghanaian blogger Zionfelix, maintained that the word "slay queen" was not offensive to her at all but rather came with some sense of pride due to her line of work.
