A throwback picture of Facebook's founder Mark Zuckerberg bagging a Harvard University honorary doctorate degree has got people talking on the social media platform.
In the picture that was shared in 2017, Zuckerberg was flanked by his parents as he posed for the camera after receiving an honorary Doctor of Laws degree during Harvard's 366th graduation ceremony.
It should be noted that Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard to focus on Facebook. The same school honoured him in 2017.
He wrote on Facebook:
"Mom, I always told you I'd come back and get my degree."
Social media users soon flooded the comment section of the post to share their thoughts.
Mima Minarikova Masarova joked:
"As a mom (not yours but my kids') I would say: Finally, Mark! It took you longer than expected but at least you finished. Now try to find a good paying job to support your family and kids."
Jan Haws Johnson said:
"You really didn't get an academic degree. You received an honorary degree. You should make your parents even more proud of you by going back and attending classes. Many adults do this and earn the degree."
Godson Osarenren commented:
"Proud of you brother, you gave this platform to the world and doctored us through the power of your creativity. Congratulations on your degree."
In other news, a woman identified as Tristen Johnson celebrated her achievement after becoming the first person in her mum's family to bag a PhD.
Tristen, who also became the first woman in her dad's family to have such a degree, made the disclosure on her LinkedIn page.
She, however, said the journey was rough but that she was blessed because it taught her so much about herself.
