A 21-year-old man, Emmanuel Adjei, is in police grips for allegedly taking the life of a five-year-old boy in a house where he lived in at Boete in the Obuasi East District in the Ashanti Region.

In a report filed by Citi News, Emmanuel Adjei reportedly escaped from the house and fled the town to go hide in a nearby community called Diewousu.

The boy was declared missing for some hours but was later found in the room of the suspect, laying in a lifeless state under the bed.

Confirming the incident, the Crime Officer for the Obuasi Police Municipal Crime Office, Superintendent Emmanuel Issaka said the father of the child reported the case to the police after which he was given an extract to make announcements.

Supt. Issaka said 30 minutes after he left, information came that the boy has been found in the room of a tenant.

He said he dispatched some men to Diewousu and arrested the suspect to assist with investigations.

He added that the child’s body is now at the Obuasi Hospital’s morgue awaiting autopsy.

In other news, a retired pastor of The Church of Pentecost accidentally shot himself to death.

The terrible incident that led to the death of pastor Ayi Mantey, 78, happened on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, in his home at Asamankese in the Eastern Region.

According to a report filed by Starrfm.com.gh, the man of God mistakenly discharged his registered gun into himself while patrolling the compound of his house.

“After the rains, he took his gun and was patrolling around. But while walking, he knocked an object on the ground and was falling but inadvertently pressed on the trigger and the gun went off hitting his armpit. I rushed him to the hospital but he died later,” Samuel Mantey, the son of the retired pastor told Starr news.
