Tragedy Hits RCCG As Pastor Dare Adeboye Dies Suddenly in Akwa Ibom

- The RCCG has been thrown into mourning over the demise of one of its pastors, Dare Adeboye

Emerging reports indicate that the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has lost his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye to death.

The Punch reported that the 42-year-old pastor died in his sleep on Tuesday, May 4, in Eket, Akwa Ibom state.

The deceased served as the assistant pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35 before his sudden death.

The newspaper, citing sources in the church, disclosed that Dare had ministered the previous day and later retired to his bed but did not wake up.

One of the sources said:

“He was not sick and did not complain of anything before the incident. Pastors in the church were summoned to pray for him, all to no avail.''

The Nation reported that Dare was discovered by his wife who raised the alarm.

According to the newspaper, a spokesperson for the RCCG, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, confirmed the sad incident.

Olubiyi said:

“It is true. The incident happened in Eket where he was based. I don’t have the details for now. Maybe before the end of today, we will issue a statement.”

The death of Pastor Dare was also confirmed in a report by the Leadership newspaper.

The publication reported that the late pastor would have turned 43 on June 9, 2021.

Meanwhile, an old video of popular archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams predicting what Ghanaians are witnessing today, the #fixthecountry campaign by the youth, has surfaced on the internet.

He was speaking in an interview with Metro TV’s Paul Adom Okyere in which he revealed that there will be a youth uprising in Ghana if the leaders fail to act.

Duncan-Williams added that this will not be witnessed only in Ghana but also in other West African countries. He specifically mentioned 2021, 2022 going.
