Captain Smart is NPP true and true.
The controversial media personality who was recently suspended by his employers for being overly critical of the Akufo-Addo administration once suffered brutish assault in the hands of some hoodlums of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for his indescribable love for the NPP.
He was critical in the 2000 electoral victory of the NPP that ushered in President Kufuor during his Secondary School days in Apam in the Central Region.
Captain Smart used to sneak out of campus to go and campaign for the NPP.
Recounting his days at the Apam Secondary School, the maverick broadcaster narrated how he was called to the then headmistress' office, Esther Hamilton, to answer questions over his political activities.
The assistant headmaster in charge of administration and the bursar were all in the meeting in which “[They asked]: ‘You small boy, what do you know about politics?’ What have you seen about Kufuor?’”
Captain Smart who was the school prefect then was then tasked not to allow any political party to campaign on the campus.
As a result, he said on the KSM show that the NPP was sacked from the Apam campus when the party arrived to sell its message to the students.
But the school authority was willing to allow the NDC to campaign on the campus.
Angered by the development, Captain Smart recounted that he went berserk, disrupting the entire process.
“The campaign didn’t come on, but I was ambushed and was heavily beaten by the crowd. The administration reprimanded me for preventing the NDC from campaigning, [and] decided that I go to the Apam Police Station to write my final exam at the police station,” he told KSM.

After writing the practical part of his exams including Physics and Chemistry Paper One and Two at the Apam Secondary School, “all the rest, I was at the Apam Police Station,” he recounted.
In other news, a police officer was interdicted for insulting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, YEN.com.gh earlier reported.
Corporal Frederick Kwaku Dzemeki, who is stationed at Prampram was arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command.
He reportedly insulted the president and the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on social media.
Corporal Dzemeki, yanked invectives at the president and his vice during an online show hosted by maverick broadcaster, Captain Smart, Kasapafmonline reported citing police wireless message.
“Our leaders are very stupid and stubborn. They don’t reason at all. Ghana is sick. Number 1 is sick and number two too is sick,” the interdicted officer wrote in the comment section of the online show on Facebook.
