WAEC releases 2016 WASSCE results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released provisional results of the 2016 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

WAEC said in a statement issued in Accra that this year’s result was slightly better than that of last year.

However,  1,576 candidates had the results of some of their subjects cancelled, while 598 candidates had their entire results cancelled.

The statement said a total of 125,065 students obtained A1 to C6 in English Language (53.19%) while 59,725 (25.40%) obtained D7-E8.   46,595 (19.82%) also had F9 in the subject.

In Mathematics, 77,108 (32.83%) had A1-C6; 65,007 (27.68%) had D7-E8; while 89,477 (38.10%) had F9.

The statement said 113,933 students had A1-C6 in Integrated Science (48.48%) 75,938 (32.32%) had D7-E8 while 4,519 (18.09%) had F9 in the subject.

WAEC said the results could immediately be accessed on its website while it made efforts to send the results to the various candidates.
