A secondary school student from Bauchi has set off an online conversation after posting his 2026 WASSCE results and asking whether his grades were strong enough to earn him a spot in a Nigerian medical school.

Moses Daniel Terzungwe, a student of Sky Crest High School in Bauchi, shared a screenshot of his official WAEC result on his Facebook page, known as Daniel Tee Moses, on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Moses Daniel's 2026 WAEC grades

Moses sat for the 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates and recorded results across nine subjects.

He earned an A1 in Marketing, B2 in Economics, B3 in Civic Education, B3 in English Language, C6 in General Mathematics, B3 in Agriculture, B3 in Biology, B3 in Chemistry, and C5 in Physics.

All nine subjects were passed, with a mix of distinctions, merits and credits spanning both arts and science disciplines.

His grades in the science subjects central to a medicine application, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, all sit within the credit band.

However, his C6 in General Mathematics and C5 in Physics attracted scrutiny from people weighing in on whether the results meet typical Nigerian medical school admission benchmarks.

WAEC rejects claims of marking down private candidates

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has pushed back firmly against allegations that it deliberately disadvantages candidates from private schools in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), calling the claims baseless.

The rebuttal came in response to concerns raised by the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS), which flagged what it described as widespread grading discrepancies in the 2026 provisional BECE results.

The association warned that the anomalies could have serious consequences for candidates seeking placement into senior high schools.
