Tanzania: Sorrow as Fresh Graduate Dies in Grisly Road Accident Moments after Graduation Party

A family in Tanzania is reeling from shock after their son was involved in a grisly road accident moments after his lovely graduation party.

Hamis Hassan Haleto graduated from the University of Dodoma on December 17, 2021, with a degree in Tourism and on the evening of that day, he held a party to celebrate his achievements.

After leaving the party, the fresh graduate boarded a boda boda but as fate would have it, he got into a terrible accident.

Amputation

According to his friend and schoolmate who spoke to Ayo TV, the young man would then be rushed to a hospital in Dodoma and upon examination, the doctors insisted on amputating him.

Despite the amputation, his condition got work in the hours that followed and he passed away on December 19, leaving his family in utter agony.

"They took him to the Intensive Care Unit but he died a day after, on the morning of December 19," he said.

Establish a business

His distraught father said he was yet to understand his son's demise.

"He was hesitant to have his leg amputated but it was done to save his life. When he was taken back to the ward, he cried so much in pain and his condition later deteriorated and I was informed that he had died," he said.

He read their last messages before death which the young man had asked his father for help to establish a business because he had a business plan.

Kiambu woman dies

In a separate report, a family in Kiambu county was also left in pain following the death of their daughter who died in a grisly road accident in September 2021.

Cynthia Waithira met her death in Gilgil on Saturday, September 11, the exact day she was celebrating her birthday.

The Toyota Fielder that she was in collided with a speeding Subaru and she was tossed from the back seat through the windscreen and landed on the tarmac. She died due to the impact.

She died just two weeks after her graduation from Moi University.
