Reactions to Linda Ocloo's advice to parents

Ghanaians who commented on the video have shared varied opinions on the advice from the Greater Accra Regional Minister to the parents of the BECE graduates.

Simon Arthur commented:

"These kids are doing multiple subjects; you would need to get an extra teacher for each subject, lol."

Agenda 2028 stated:

"She is right. Every child, especially those in Pot C and D schools, needs extra tuition during vacation. Back in the days, we used to go for vacation classes at Presec and Accra Academy. This was one way of measuring your acquired knowledge against those in Pot A and B schools to determine if you were on the right track or not. She’s absolutely right."

Mensah Bismark added:

"The problem is GES has enforced the single-track system, and because of that, the intake of students in various SHSs has reduced. The only option for them is to make sure the majority of students get Day more than boarding."

Nyame Ye stated:

"Schools shape you, but then your success is entirely up to you — not necessarily the school you attended.People went to underprivileged schools and yet, they're doing well."

GES to revert double-track SHSs to single-track

YEN.com.gh also reported that the GES has gone public with plans to revert Senior High Schools from the double-track to the single-track system in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Starting in October 2025, approximately 99 double-track schools will transition back to the traditional single-track system.

The new policy will allow students to have a more traditional and uninterrupted academic calendar.
