Three people have reportedly lost their lives at Mahean-Ablekuma, a suburb of Accra, in a tragic incident linked to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

The deceased include a local carpenter, Jonas Ofosu Yeboah, and Florence Naa Kwarley, a 19-year-old who recently graduated from Senior High School (SHS).
Reports by maskblog_ on Instagram on May 8, 2026, indicate that on the night of May 5, 2026, the community experienced a power outage, prompting the use of a generator.
Ofosu Yeboah allegedly placed the running generator inside a locked corridor while the victims were asleep in his room.
The fumes from the machine are believed to have filled the enclosed space, leading to the deaths of the three individuals.
The lifeless bodies were discovered early Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, in a hardened state.
The Amasaman Divisional Police Command has confirmed the development and stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances.
This incident has prompted fresh warnings to the public about the dangers of operating generators in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas.
