The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly won the Akwatia Constituency parliamentary by-election.

The Electoral Commission has yet to officially release the results collated from all polling stations.

However, the NDC claims to have won the by-election by over a thousand votes, as per figures from its internal collation system.

As per the provisional figures, the NDC's candidate Bernard Bediako has won the Akwatia seat, polling 14,354 votes compared to 12,144 for the NPP's candidate, Solomon Kwame Asumadu.

The party's director for elections, Rashid Tanko, has also called the elections in favour of the National Democratic Congress and Bernard Bediako.

In an interview, he dedicated their soon-to-be-made official victory to the late Dr Edward Omane Boamah, who passed away in the recent helicopter crash.

"We have won the Akwatia By-election in honour of my boss, Dr. Omane Boamah. At 7am that faithful morning we spoke on phone about Akwatia. He had a plan and we have implemented it’," he said.

Scenes from the strong room party's strong room captured several party faithfuls jubilating.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, they sang the party's anthem and jumped for joy over the election results.

Prophet Roja accurately predicts Akwatia by-election

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Prophet De-Lighter Roja, who rose to prominence after foreseeing Omane Boamah's doom, has reacted after his Akwatia election came to fruition.

Three weeks before the election, Prophet Roja predicted the winner of the Akwatia by-election in favour of the NDC.

Following the election confirming his prophecy, Prophet Roja took to his TikTok page to share a video collage of his earlier prediction.
