The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) recently released a report highlighting the top 100 most valuable football players in the world.

This prestigious list, compiled by a leading global football statistical authority, features numerous marquee players who have left an indelible mark on the 2023/24 football season.

Among the rankings from the Swiss-based organisation are several African players who enjoyed stellar campaigns.

However, a notable omission from the CIES list is that no Kenyan player made it into the top 100 most valuable players.

Michael Olunga

Joseph Okumu

The Reims centre-back is another of Kenya's most valuable players currently.

The 27-year-old, like Olunga, boasts a market value estimated at around €9mil.

The former Gent defender was a mainstay for coach Will Still's side during his debut campaign with the French Ligue 1 club.

The Bristol City centre-back ranks third on the list of the most valuable Kenyan football players.

According to data from Fotmob, Erick ranks among the players who attempted the most shots per 90 minutes in the Polish league during the 2023/24 season.
