Chelsea has rewarded Cole Palmer with a new contract following his breathtaking debut season at the club.

Palmer was a shining light in an otherwise difficult season that saw Mauricio Pochettino quit after only one season.

Signed from Manchester City for around £42.5m, Palmer arrived in West London and took to life like a duck to water. He starred with 22 goals in the Premier League as Chelsea finished sixth to qualify for the Conference League.

How much does Cole Palmer earn at Chelsea?

A club statement confirmed that the England international had extended his stay to 2033. The Telegraph reports that his salary has also risen to around £120,000 per week.

The Clearlake consortium are believed to be on a mission to reduce the average wage bill as part of their mission to conform with Profit and Sustainability Rules. Top earners like Romelu Lukaku, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell are all linked with a move away.
