Late Matt Beard's coaching journey

Beard first joined Liverpool Women in 2012, leading the team to back-to-back Women’s Super League titles in 2013 and 2014 and guiding them to their inaugural UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign.

After leaving Liverpool, he coached in the United States with Boston Breakers before returning to England to manage West Ham United Women, taking them to the Women’s FA Cup final in 2019.

What is the cause of Matt Beard's death?

According to the coroner’s court, as cited by Mail Online, Matt Beard was found hanged at his residence. During a hearing on Monday, Coroner John Griffiths said paramedics were called to Matt Beard’s home in Deeside, Flintshire, and he was subsequently taken to the hospital.

According to the report, a devastating brain injury reportedly caused by hanging has been reported, with a full inquest to take place later after the hearing was adjourned.
