Bawumia serves Armed Forces lunch at Burma Camp
- The Vice President is urging the Armed Forces to be vigilante and deal with criminals
- Dr Bawumia says government will support the Armed Forces with logistics in order to carry out their duties
The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Alhaji Bawumia, was spotted at Burma Camp in Accra on Wednesday, serving some officers of the Ghana Armed Forces at a lunch.
The Vice President did the honors after delivering an address on behalf of President Akufo-Addo, at the 2017 General Headquarters West African Soldier Social Activities (WASSA), as the special guest.

Dr Bawumia who delivered a short address at the event commended officers of the Ghana Armed Forces for their continual sacrifice in ensuring the peace and stability of the country.
He also pledged some logistical support to the Armed Forces in order to carry out their lawful duties as expected of them.
The Vice President in his address encouraged the officers to lawfully deal with the unruly activities of criminals who have taken the laws into their hands with impunity.

“To those criminal groups, environmental degraders, and all whose activities pose security threat to our country, I wish to advise that opportunities exist in the economy for them to channel their energies into more productive and rewarding enterprises that will earn them a decent livelihood,” Dr Bawumia said.
The event was attended by some high profile dignitaries, including the Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and his colleague Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu.
WASSA is an annual event celebrated by the various arms of the Ghana Armed Forces to bring together family members to fraternize in order to strengthen the bond of comradeship.
