Daddy Lumba named Ghana’s greatest musician of all time

Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has been named as the greatest musician to have ever emerged from Ghana.

This is according to list compiled by entertainment journalist Austin Woode, which covers all artistes post-Ghana’s independence.

Austin said he came to this conclusion after thorough research and consultancies, but was opened to rebuttals from people who did not agree with his list.

Other notable musicians who made the list are Sarkodie and Amakye Dede, who were named as Best Hiplife Artiste and Best Male Performer.

This survey is a subjective one and was done by journalist, Austine Woode as part of independence day celebration.

Daddy Lumba has been consistent with the release of multiple-hit albums. He has also established himself as one of Ghana's most popular singers of the Highlife genre.

In all he has 22 albums that he wrote and produced. Altogether he has released more than 27 albums as a songwriter, or singer or producer.
