Fancy Gadam won ‘Hiplife Song of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ with his song ‘Total Cheat’, which featured rapper Sarkodie. The ‘Song of the Year’ win left a bitter pill in the mouth of Swedru-based artiste Patapaa.

But Fancy Gadam in an interview on Joy FM laid into Patapaa Aminsty for suggesting he did not deserve to win the Most Popular Song category during Saturday’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Fancy Gadam beat off competition from Patapaa to scoop the award, despite the latter being the favourite.

Having released his hit song ‘one corner’, Patapaa was sure that the popularity of the song merited an award.

However, the Swedru-based artiste was snubbed at the VGMA, with the award rather going to Fancy Gadam for his single ‘totally cheat’ featuring rapper Sarkodie.

In the aftermath of the VGMA, Patapaa lashed out at the organisers, claiming he had been cheated.

He further directed his anger at Fancy Gadam, insisting the Tamale-based hiplife artiste had bribed his way to win the Most Popular Song of the Year category.

In a sharp riposte, though, Fancy Gadam, has hit back at Patapaa insisting his allegations are unfounded.

According to him, he fairly won the award, whiles describing talks of him bribing organisers are “all lies”.

If I win and you no feel, massa go hang yourself,” he told Joy FM in pidgin.

He added: “if this year is Fancy Gadam’s year, next year can be your year, so you for no vex.
