NDC needs a new leader for the 2020 elections – Akwasi Addai Odike

- A politician, Akwasi Addai Odike, has advised the NDC against choosing John Mahama as its new flagbearer

- According to him, it will be better for the party to lose the 2020 elections even with a new flagbearer

The Founder and Leader of United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike, has advised delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to reject Former President John Mahama.

According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, Mahama should not be given another opportunity to lead the party into the 2020 elections.

Speaking on Nhyira FM’s morning show, Odike went on to say that even though all is not well under Akufo-Addo government, everything shows that Ghanaians are not ready for John Mahama.

He explained that presenting Mahama for the 2020 elections will only spell doom for the party with respect to its future.

“My advice to the NDC is that, they should not give Mahama the chance if they really want political power. Ghanaians are not ready for him,” the 2016 UPP flagbearer said.

He added that John Mahama needs to step aside in the interest of the party, so that a new person takes up the role.

Odike again said that the NDC will be more attractive even if the new person does not win the elections.
