You’re ‘king’ but Stonebwoy is ‘sitting on your neck’ – David Oscar jabs Shatta Wale

Former Ghanaian Comedian and musician, David Oscar has stirred another controversy between Ghana's dancehall ‘rivals’, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

According to Oscar, Stonebwoy is far better than Shatta Wale when it comes to dancehall lyrical content.

To him, although the Shatta Movement President is claiming to be the dancehall King in Ghana, Stonebwoy is ‘sitting on his neck’ when it comes to good music, therefore he must learn to respect him.

Speaking on Accra-based Hirtz FM on Thursday, as monitored by abrantepa.com, David Oscar disclosed that Shatta Wale is yet to reach Stonebwoy’s achievement.

The former TV host in his interaction indicated that Shatta Wale's recognition and awards does not make him talented than Stonebwoy.

“When it comes to Reggae/dancehall, Stonebwoy has a BET; you don’t have one. You’re talking about IRAWMAs. Who doesn’t know that BET is bigger than the IRAWMAs? Let’s face facts,” David Oscar argued.

The former comedian further jabbed Shatta Wale for overly bragging about his wealth.

“You are a king but someone is seated on you when it comes to the genre so respect that. You’re always boasting that you’re rich. If you’re rich, go buy BET,” he said.

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have over the years been on each other’s neck in their bid to settle who owns the rights to Ghana’s dancehall crown.

Stonebwoy who claims to be lyrically good than Shatta Wale in 2015 was adjudged Best International Act: Africa at the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.

The dancehall artiste beat competition from his Ghanaian counterpart, Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria) to pick the award.

Stonebwoy also earned another nomination in the 2017 edition but lost. However, Shatta Wale is yet to see any recognition from the BET.
