Since the gruesome murder of Josephine Asante, the public affairs manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), new developments keep coming to light.
In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Graphiconline.com, the owners of Emefs Estate have said the killers did not trail her to the house on that fateful day.
Asante was murdered in her bedroom after she had reportedly returned home from a party on January 13, 2019.
Following this, many views have been expressed that her assailants must have followed her to the house that evening to commit that criminal act.
But in an official release which was issued on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, the management of EMEFS Construction Limited, said the tight security condition at the premises would not allow such a thing to happen.
According to them, no person could enter or exit the estate without being noticed or accosted.
The statement gives an indication that the killer might be hiding somewhere in the house before the deceased even got home.
“All Emefs Estates, namely: Lagoon View, Hill View, Palace and Gardens are walled and well protected by very watchful and resilient security personnel and there was no way an assassin or group of assassins could have followed the victim into the estate without being noticed and accosted,” part of the release stated.
The statement further urged all residents, business partners, and other stakeholders to remain calm and go about their normal activities as investigations of the heinous crime continue.
It said it will work with the police to unravel the mystery.

"We regret the ill-fated incident that occurred on Sunday, the 13th of January 2019 at our Mataheko (Hillview-Palace) Estate in which one of our residents, Mrs. Josephine Asante, the wife of a homeowner was gruesomely murdered in her bedroom.
Our deepest sympathy goes to the entire Asante and allied families during this very difficult time of their lives.
Contrary to speculations that an assassin or group of assassins might have followed the deceased home through the gates to commit the dastardly act, we wish to state clearly that it was not so.
All Emefs Estates, namely: Lagoon View, Hill View, Palace and Gardens are walled and well protected by very watchful and resilient security personnel and there was no way an assassin or group of assassins could have followed the victim into the estate without being noticed and accosted.
As we continue to work closely with the Police to unravel the mystery, we urge all residents, business partners, and other stakeholders to remain calm and go about their normal activities as investigations of the heinous crime continue. At least a suspect has been arrested.
We shall come out with further communiqué as and when we have further insights.
Thank you for bearing with us during these challenging times.
Emefs Estates continues to build your dream homes and your maximum security remains our top priority."
Meanwhile, earlier reports revealed that the police found sperms in the pelvic region of the late Josephine Asante, suggesting that she might have been raped before being killed.
Also, her houseboy is currently in police custody.
He was reported to have confessed to burying some items of his madam including her wristwatch and an amount of GH₵340.
YEN.com.gh is keenly following up on this development and will update readers as fresh information come in.
