Aaron Ramsey has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Juventus in the summer in a deal that will earn the Arsenal midfielder over £400,000 a week.

The Wales international has agreed a four-year contract with the Italian champions as a free agent after ending his 11-year romance with the Gunners.

The 28-year-old was medically cleared on two occasions in January having being allowed to talk to top European clubs.

The former Cardiff City star will be the highest-earning British player ever based on basic salary.

Ramsey's contract at the Emirates expires on June 30, and the north London club will receive no fee when he leaves as a free agent.

It is understood that the Bianconeri would incur costs of £3.2million but did not specify what the fee was for.

Ramsey thanked Arsenal's fans for the support and said he will "continue to give the team 100%" On his Instagram page,

He wrote: "You welcomed me as a teenager and have been there through all the highs and lows I've encountered during my time at the club.

"It is with a heavy heart that I leave after 11 incredible years. Thank you."

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh had earlier reported Mesut Ozil was rejected in the January transfer window by top European clubs after Arsenal tried to sell him, reports from Italy claim.

The former German midfielder was said to have been offered to Italian champions Juventus but the Old Lady were put off by his £350,000 weekly wages.
