I stopped being Asamoah Gyan's lawyer because we were no longer at par on issues - Kissi Agyebeng

Private legal practitioner Kissi Agyebeng has opened up on why he no longer serves as an attorney for Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan.

The lawyer has been providing legal counsel to the Ghanaian international for some years now, however, both men have since parted ways.

Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat, he explained that he withdrew his services from the striker because they are no longer at “par with reasoning” on issues.

The popular lawyer said he decided to walk away when it became apparent that he could no longer agree with Gyan on certain critical matters.

“I gave his brief back to him last year (2018) because I felt that we were not at par with reasoning,” Mr. Agyebeng said.
“I have been his backbone for many years. Sometime last year, it became apparent that we could not agree on certain matters so I had to go to court and recuse myself from all his cases.”

He was, however, quick to state that while their professional relationship is over, he enjoys one of cordiality with the Black Stars skipper.

Mr. Agyebeng serves as lawyer for a host of prominent persons in the country, including investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Meanwhile, Gyan has been in the news after the outcome of a paternity test to prove the legitimacy or otherwise of his kids was made public on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.

The Black Stars captain dragged his wife to court in November 2018 after harbouring doubts over whether he is the real father of their three children.

The 32-year-old reportedly demanded that a DNA paternity test be carried out on his three children.

The Kayserispor striker reportedly wanted the court to annul his marriage to his wife, Gifty, with whom he has been together since 2003.

However, reports emerged that the results of the DNA paternity test actually confirmed that Gyan is the real father of the children.
