Massive shake up in Parliament as MPS are removed from Select Committees

Some Select Committees of Ghana’s Parliament have been hit by a massive shakeup.

This has reportedly led to the removal of some prominent Members of Parliament (MPs) from positions they used to occupy on the Select Committees.

Accra-based Starr FM reports that the Chairman of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee and Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga has been hit by the shakeup.

It is believed that Mr. Ayariga’s work at the ECOWAS Parliament has often taken most of his time.

Reports suggest his ECOWAS assignments have affected his work as the Chairman of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee.

In his stead, a former Deputy Attorney General, Dr Dominic Ayine, now heads the Committee.

Also, the Ranking Member of the Health Committee, Joseph Yieleh Chireh, has also reportedly been booted out.

The Wa MP has reportedly been replaced with Juaboso MP, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh in the position.
