Raccoons are not native to the tropics but a video sighted by YEN.com.gh shows a raccoon imported to Ghana by a person currently unknown at the time of publication.
The short video, initially posted to the Instagram page of Daily Celebrities News, sees a pretty sizeable raccoon taken out of a saloon car. The setting is not quite known to us but it would seem like workers' yard.
The voices over on the video could be heard speaking Twi, a local language. One voice exclaimed audibly, "Aburokyire akrantie", basically meaning "a foreign grass cutter".
The animal may have been brought to Ghana by someone with an interest in making it a pet.
There are no previous records of a raccoon in Ghana.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old Nigerian student based in Ghana has reportedly been threatened with a forced eviction by her landlady because apparently, the student has been disturbing with her sounds of excitement during lovemaking.
As reported by Ghpage.com, the landlady claims she has received several complaints from neighbours of the Nigerian student.
The apartment building houses other occupants apart from the student who like many Nigerians, rent very good accommodation facilities when they school in Ghana.
The landlady spoke to Otec FM in Kumasi to narrate the dilemma she was facing.
