Amazing video of the first ever raccoon in Ghana pops up

Raccoons are not native to the tropics but a video sighted by YEN.com.gh shows a raccoon imported to Ghana by a person currently unknown at the time of publication.

The short video, initially posted to the Instagram page of Daily Celebrities News, sees a pretty sizeable raccoon taken out of a saloon car. The setting is not quite known to us but it would seem like workers' yard.

The voices over on the video could be heard speaking Twi, a local language. One voice exclaimed audibly, "Aburokyire akrantie", basically meaning "a foreign grass cutter".

The animal may have been brought to Ghana by someone with an interest in making it a pet.

There are no previous records of a raccoon in Ghana.
