7 most beautiful Twi newscasters in Ghana (photos)

The Ghanaian broadcast media space is currently being dominated by content in local languages. The one local language which has been most dominant is Twi (Akan).

What has endeared many of these Akan (Twi) stations to listeners is the news and many of these Twi newscasters have become household names.

YEN.com.gh brings you a list of female Twi newscasters who are just as beautiful, stylish, and sophisticated as their counterparts in the English news settings.

1. Afia Pokua (Vim Lady):

Adom FM editor Afia Pokuaa popularly known as Vim Lady is an ever-present voice on the station's news programmes.

And she also hosts other shows on Adom FM and the sister TV station, Adom TV.

Vim Lady is even versatile to the point of making appearances on Joy FM's morning show as a guest/panellist when the need arises.

2. Afia Amankwah Tamakloe:

Afia Amankwah Tamakloe is the female face of Adom TV's news programmes. Tamakloe is also the host of other shows on the station.

Her smiles are always heartwarming.

3. Akosua Ago Aboagye:

Peace FM newscaster Akosua Ago Aboagye is relatively a veteran on the radio.

She has been at Peace FM for a very long time now and worked at Otec FM in Kumasi prior to coming to Peace FM. And she was once a football commentator for Otec.

Though a Twi newscaster, Ago Aboagye's impressive command of English and the way she pronounces words like 'communication' have become a trademark.

4. Ama Sarpong Kumankuma:

Ama Sarpong Kumankuma is regular on the news programmes of UTV, the sister station of Peace FM.

And she is really good at what she does.

5. Akosua Sarpong:

Akosua Sarpong shuffles between reading news on Peace FM and UTV. And for both platforms, she has been on point.

6. Nana Yaa Konadu:

Nana Yaa Konadu aka Mama Africa is one of the most long-standing voices o Peace FM. Apart from reading news, she hosts other shows across the stations belonging to Despite Media.

The fact that she has been able to stand in for the late Maa Afia Konadu on radio should tell you the stuff she is made of.

7. Afia Akyere Asiedu:

Just like many of her colleagues at Despite Media, Afia Akyere serves as a newscaster for both radio and TV.

She also makes regular appearances on UTV's morning show among other programmes across the Despite group.
