The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah who has been fond of criticizing the government has come out to speak about the double-track system recently.

According to him, the future of Ghanaian children would be destroyed by the free education initiative that the Nana Addo government is undertaking.

The most surprising part was a statement he made on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning show when he suggested that the mediocre education that high school students are experiencing currently is worse off than choosing to be an illiterate.

“If we should allow things to pan out the way they are now at the education sector without changing certain policies, then they are being wicked to children by messing up their future. Because this half-baked education is worse than illiteracy. If the children go to school and they are being taught wrongly, then those who didn’t go to school at all are better off," he stated.

He stated the main reason for his stance was the fact that day-students have had to spend more money acquiring a sleeping place than they would have spend on school fees.

Asiedu Nketiah further stated that the NDC has a plan to solve the hiccups currently facing the Free SHS Policy by liaising with private schools to solve the problem of school placement to improve the smoothness of the process.

He said the NDC would construct 100 senior high schools in its first 90 days in office.

Asiedu Nketiah emphatically stated that all the abandoned community day schools which the NDC started would be completed.
