Barely two weeks after Frederick Acheampong resigned as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ashanti Gold, Emmanuel Frimpong, has landed the top job.
Emmanuel Frimpong, 24, son of Dr Kweku Frimpong, the majority shareholder of Ashanti Gold took over from Frederick Acheampong who resigned last week.
Dr Kwaku Frimpong better known as ‘Champion’ appointed his own son Emmanuel Frimpong to succeed Acheampong.
He was appointed together with Roy Arthur, former CEO of B.A United, who will be serving as the Sporting Director for the four times Ghana Premier League Champions.
According to the Switzerland-born entrepreneur, he was not surprised to be appointed the Miners' CEO.

"I wasn’t surprised on my appointment as the CEO for Ashgold, it’s a big task but I know we will get it done with enough support,'' he reportedly told Kumasi FM.
Frimpong makes history as Ghana’s youngest football administrator following his latest appointment.
This will be Emmanuel Frimpong’s first time into football administration.
Currently, Ashanti Gold are lying 5th on the league, with 25 points after match day 15.
