Election 2020: Mahama closes in on Akufo-Addo as fresh results from NPP strongroom drop

- The new projections have President Nana Akufo-Addo leading John Mahama
- But Mahama has cut down on the lead of 700,000 votes for Akufo-Addo as earlier projected by NPP

New figures have popped up from the New Patriotic Party (NPP's) collation centre or strongroom as popularly known.
The new projections in the NPP's strongroom has the NDC's John Mahama closing in on President Nana Akufo-Addo as compared to earlier projections by the NPP.
In a press conference, the NPP's General Secretary John Boadu claimed that the party had received results from 34,040 polling stations representing 87.43 per cent of the total of 38,933 total.
Out of the number, Boadu claimed that Akufo-Addo won 6, 085, 000 (6.085 million) representing 52.72 per cent as against Mahama's 5,308,000 (5.308 million) representing 45.93 per cent.
The latest projection is reporting of results from 37,628 polling stations (96.13 per cent of total polling stations).
According to the results projected and sighted by YEN.com.gh, Akufo-Addo has won 6,557,101 votes while John Mahama has 5,989,168 votes.
This brings the supposed gap between Akufo-Addo which was over 700,000 votes at the time of the press conference to around 570,000 votes.
