An Arizona tyre factory worker, Brandon Soules recently came up with an elaborate scheme in order to avoid going to work. The 19-year-old decided that he would fake his own kidnapping - which should've got him out of work right? Except it didn't.
Soules first drove himself to Coolidge and after tying himself up with his belt and stuffing a bandana in his mouth he lay next to a water tower and pretended he had been accosted when strangers came across him and called the police.
When the police arrived, Soules told them that he was knocked unconscious and then tied up by two masked men. Not long after questioning and an extensive investigation it was found that the entire story was made up.
Soules then admitted to the cops that he had faked his own kidnapping so that he could avoid going to work at the tyre factory. A Daily Mail article reported that following his shenanigans, Soule was subsequently fired from the factory and was also arrested for false claims.
In other news, a clip of a robber getting a lot more than he bargained for after attempting to rob a man who was walking nearby has been shared online. While it is unclear how old the video is, Twitter user @DanielMarven explained that the incident happened in Hillbrow.
In the short clip, the robber can be seen trying to grab hold of the pedestrian who walks past him and a bunch of other men. When the pedestrian pulls away, the robber starts to follow him but soon stops as he realises that his victim is pulling out a gun.
The man then retreats and appears to be apologising to his would-be victim who is now pointing the gun directly at the thug. Surprisingly, the men around them all continue with what they were doing, almost oblivious to what was unfolding before them.
