National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has urged supporters of the party to ignore the anti-party agenda of Koku Anyidoho and Allotey Jacobs.
“Let’s ignore Koku Anyidoho and Allotey Jacobs and focus on our party,” Ofosu-Ampofo reportedly said, 3News.com reported.
He said despite the duo being suspended, the party will listen to the supporters’ wishes to take further actions against them. “We will go and look at exactly what to be done to ensure sanity."
Koku Anyidoho, who is a Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, called the bluff of the party, saying he is still a committed member of the umbrella fraternity.
According to him, no one in the largest opposition party served him a suspension letter contrary to media reports.
“I am still a member of the great NDC. No one has suspended me,” he reportedly said on an Akatsi-based Radio Station, Shine 96.9FM, in the Volta Region.
The NDC suspended him for breaching the party's disciplinary code per Articles 46(1), 46(6), and 46(8)(b) of its constitution.
The Bono Regional Deputy Communication Officer of the NDC, Eric Adjei, who was one of the petitioners, said Koku Anyidoho's spiteful speeches against the party subjected it to public ridicule.
Meanwhile, Bernard Allotey Jacobs said he no longer belongs to the NDC.
Speaking on Accra-based Peace FM’s Kookrokoo programme on Wednesday, March 10, and monitored by YEN.com.gh, Allotey Jacobs said he had paid his dues to the umbrella fraternity and it is time for him to move on.
The former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC said he now supports President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to him, the policies being rolled out by the Akufo-Addo administration made it easy for him to declare his support for the President and his vice.
The NDC in May 2020 suspended him for “persistent anti-party conduct.”
The suspension was according to articles 46(1), 46(6), and 46(8) of the party’s constitution.
