The NDC on March 23, 2021, announced in a statement the sacking of the former Central Regional Chairman of the party for “misconduct and anti-party behavior.”

The announcement comes weeks after Allotey Jacobs announced that he was no longer a member of the party.

The NDC in May 2020 suspended him for “persistent anti-party conduct” under articles 46(1), 46(6), and 46(8) of the party’s constitution.

Reacting to his expulsion in an interview monitored by YEN.com.gh on Starr FM, Allotey Jacobs said: “I don’t know whether they are brainless or what? How can you say you’ve expunged me when two weeks ago, I expunged myself from the party?”

Allotey Jacobs had earlier said on Accra-based Peace FM’s Kookrokoo programme on Wednesday, March 10, and monitored by YEN.com.gh, that he had paid his dues to the umbrella fraternity and it is time for him to move on.

The former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC said he now supports President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to him, the policies being rolled out by the Akufo-Addo administration made it easy for him to declare his support for the President and his vice.

In other NDC news on YEN.com.gh, a group of supporters of the party has demonstrated against former president John Mahama.

They were seen displaying placards with inscriptions such as "Mahama is destroying the NDC".

It is not currently known what led to the group taking this action against Mahama.

Following news making rounds in the media, it however seems the NDC has been facing issues since the 2020 Elections and its aftermath did not go favour the party.
