- This NDC has suspended Stephen Atubiga
- He was suspended for disparaging key party officials
- This follows the sacking of Allotey Jacobs
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended Stephen Atubiga, a former flagbearer aspirant for making “disparaging and unfounded” remarks against key party officials.
In a two-page letter, the NDC’s Functional Executive Committee said among those Atubiga disparaged was the party’s election 2020 Campaign Chairman, Professor Joshua Alabi.
He has been referred to the Disciplinary Committee for a hearing.
“It is our hope that you would co-operate with the Disciplinary Committee for an expeditious determination of your case,” the party said in a statement.
The suspension followed the sacking of the former Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs.
In other NDC news, a member of the party on Facebook by the name Wî-Fï Dė Rëd Mhønnï hit back at the sacked former Central Regional Chairman of the party for describing the party as “devil’s den.”
Bernard Allotey Jacobs said in the aftermath of his expulsion from the umbrella fraternity that a lot more people will soon ditch the NDC because of its evil ways.
“If you’re in that party, you are in the devil’s den,” the former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC said in an interview on Starr FM and monitored by YEN.com.gh.
The NDC on March 23 expelled him from its fold for “misconduct and anti-party behaviour.”
The expulsion comes weeks after Allotey Jacobs announced that he was no longer a member of the party months after he was suspended for “persistent anti-party conduct” under articles 46(1), 46(6), and 46(8) of the party’s constitution.
Angered by Allotey Jacobs’ relentless denigration of the NDC, Wî-Fï Dė Rëd Mhønnï wrote in a Facebook post sighted by YEN.com.gh that: “With this your nose, how will you smell good things from the NDC?”
On his part, Stephen Oduro said the party lost the 2016 elections because of characters “like this Allotey [Jacobs]. “I don't blame him but delegates who voted him to occupy that position as a regional chairman. Thank God today he is no more with us.”
Mohammed B. Issahaq described him as “the Modern-day Judas .” “Skin pain!!! ,” he added.
Zege Ossom wants the likes of Allotey Jacobs out of the NDC immediately. “One good thing about the NDC is, it is attractive to the youth of today, and old pigs like you are not needed.”
Yakubu Alhassan was shocked by the latest statement by Allotey Jacobs saying: “Surprise to see old man of your calibre behaving foolishly like this.”
“Who is advising this man? The person must not be paid this month's salary,” Akpaku Divine added.
