AMG rapper Medikal, known in private life as Samuel Adu Frimpong, has been caught in a controversy over his real age.

The award-winning rapper turned a year older on Monday, April 5, 2021, and celebrated his birthday in grand style.

In one of his posts on social media on the day, Medikal indicated that he had just attained the age of 27.

Not long after the La Hustle rapper's post about his age came up, a video popped up online suggesting otherwise.

The video happens to be an excerpt from Medikal's interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on her Delay Show in 2017.

In the interview with Delay, Medikal had claimed to be 25 years old at the time and thus should be around 29 years old now.

The interview was uploaded on April 30, 2017, meaning Medikal had celebrated his birthday a few weeks before.

It is not known what might have caused such inconsistency from Medikal over his own age but the throwback video has cast doubts on his age.

Aside from this controversy over his age, Medikal's birthday turned out to be a great celebration for him and his family.

As previously reported by YEN.com.gh, the rapper's wife, Fella Makafui, pulled a big surprise on him on his birthday.

Fella organised a getaway and showered expensive gifts on her husband as videos from their getaway popped up on social media.

Earlier, Fella Makafui had taken to social media to share some videos. The videos showed some of the moments the two had shared and some with their daughter, Island Frimpong.
