Ghana's oldest medical practitioner, Emmanuel Evans Anfom, has died at 101.

One of his sons, Nii Teiko Evans-Anfom, took to his Facebook page to announce his departure.

''Dr Emmanuel Evans-Anfom, 7th October 1919 - 7th April 2021,'' his post read.

Several people headed to the comment section of his post to commiserate with him and the family for their loss.

Before his demise, Dr Evans-Anfom had served as the second vice-chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from 1967 to 1973.

While at the reputable public university, Dr Evans-Anfom was the first person to introduce the ceremony commonly known as ''Matriculation'' into the university entry ceremonies.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported a female junior high school graduate, Rachael Mensah, who works as a professional painter has carved a niche for herself in the male-dominated field.

While growing up, Rachael Mensah nurtured the dream of becoming a policewoman but later had to pursue a different career due to financial impediments.

Despite having a difficult childhood due to financial challenges that truncated her education to senior high school, Rachael Mensah was resolved to change her fortunes to better her life.

In other news, Hajia Maame Sahadatu, the mother of an 11-year-old boy who was gruesomely killed by two teenagers for rituals in Kasoa in the Central Region has recounted how she got to know about her son's murder.

The bereaved mother disclosed that the elder sister of Ishmael Mensah came to break the heart-rending news to her.

Speaking in an interview, Sahadatu told Citi News amid tears that she was shocked by her son's demise.
