Popular Nigerian actress, Tonto Dike, has shared photos of an award she received from the United Nations as an ambassador.
Tonto said she has been given United Nations Noble International Ambassador for the United Nations rescue service.
She happily flaunted the various plaques, including one that looks like a number plate, as part of her award.
The post has triggered massive responses from her fans in both Ghana and Nigeria with the Ghanaians cautioning her about the award.
Giovanni wondered if the number plate was to park Tonto’s career. He also wondered why this award man also has the same haircut as Dr. UN:
Ben Dotsei Malor begged her to drop that award because there is no such title at the UN. He advised Tonto to check with any UN agency in Abuja. Ben also described it as misleading and troubling:
Jah also asked if Tonto made the background checks before accepting the award:
Phil also said Tonto needs to do due diligence:
Yaw also feared for Tonto:
While Ghanaians feared and advised Tonto, her fellow Nigerians congratulated her:
It was later established that the award was fake and was never coming from the United Nations.
It is for this reason and more that Ghanaians have sensitised Tonto on her UN award.
