Police officials at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region disrupted an assassination attempt on the life of the district chief executive for Bosome Freho, Yaw Danso.
So far, two suspects have been picked up by the police as investigations begin into the development.
The district commander of police, ASP Seidu Braimah, who led the operation on Thursday, said the two suspects since been handed over to the Ejisu Divisional Command to assist with investigations.

An attempt by a group of land guards to scare construction workers at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region has backfired.
These gun-wielding men besieged the construction site demanding workers there to stop work. In fact, police reports from Gomoa Fetteh show that the land guards opened fire at the workers only for them to be met with similar action by the construction workers.
The exchange of gunshots left one of the land guards shot at the neck. The Senya Bereku District Police Commander, ASP Kingsley Asirifi Asante, who briefed Adom News about the clash said the land guards were alleged to have opened fire on the builders.
The injured was shot in his neck area and is currently receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
