The woman, identified as Amina Mahama, was accused of causing a baobab tree to fall and kill a young man in the town.
According to a report filed by CitiNews, on Saturday April 17, at about 9 pm, some youth were sleeping under a Baobab tree in the town because the weather was warm.
Out of no where, some parts of the baobab tree allegedly fell on them, killing one of the three instantly and injuring the two others.
According to the youth, no strong wind blew as a signal for rainfall before the unfortunate incident occurred.
They however linked the unfortunate incident to the 68-year-old lady because her house was just a few metres away from the scene of the accident.
“The lady was behind the incident. We’ve suspected her of being a witch for a long time. This one, there was no wind, no sign of rain and all of a sudden the tree fell,” one of the angry youth said.
Luckily for Amina, she was not at home when the youth of the town beseiged her house to torch it, leading to the loss of several properties.
Police in Zabzugu had to intervene to stop further destruction of Amina’s belongings.
Meanwhile, about eight months ago, a video surfaced online showing the final moments of Akua Mariama Denteh, the 90-year-old lady who was mob-attacked at Kafaba in the Gonja East Municipality.
It would be recalled that the old lady was attacked by the Kafaba locals over an alleged suspicion that she was a witch responsible for the retrogression of the community.
The old woman in the Savannah Region confessed to being a witch as a result of the persistent beatings that the community members put her through in the video.
