Our manifesto: This is what YEN.com.gh believes in
Graduation season is in full force and our proud students have unavoidably taken to flexing on our timeline. Today we're celebrating some serious black girl magic as Twitter user @Kgvthxtso_22 demonstrates brains and beauty are in fact not mutually exclusive characteristics in Mzansi's young ladies.
Her tweet captioned "So this happened yesterday, I’m an Engineer yal" , has seen the student go viral with more than 20k likes for the post already. We also couldn't help noticing how stunning the young lady looked in her emerald green dress, graduation certificate tightly in hand.
Mzansi took to the comments section to show the graduate some love. Read their comments below:
"I am here for this. Congratulations baby girl!!"
"@LindiweSisuluSA can you include her to work with Cubans so she gains experience?? Thank you."
"Ey , I wish I was graduating"
"I'm coming darling. Pave a way for us, congratulations"
"Congratulations I'm so happy for you. God bless you."
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh previously reported hundreds of students were awarded the recognition they deserved in a heartwarming virtual ceremony, as their names were written boldly on various screens underneath their new qualifications.
While it may not have been the same as stepping on a stage in front of hundreds of people clapping for you, it was as special as they could make it for themselves and so unsurprisingly, many dressed up and shared beautiful posts to celebrate the truly momentous occasion.
"A 3x graduate! Covid wouldn’t let me be great so I just added (drew) my 3rd belt on my last graduation picture. Issa Hatrick of belts! You can call me Ronaldo. #UFSVirtualGraduation #UFSGraduation2021," @nombulelo_booi wrote proudly.
Many other UFS graduates also shared heartwarming posts. Read a few of the most inspiring comments below:
"Graduating during a pandemic is the pits yho. I really worked hard for Callie Human maarn. But anyway. #UFSGraduation2021 #UFSVirtualGraduation"
"Mama and I have made it to the UFS graduation list TOGETHER. Our ancestors' wildest dream? Hell yeah! We are officially within, we did that! #UFSGraduation2021"
