A few days ago, Gregory Andrews, the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana reignited the Ghana-Nigerian Jollof war by tweeting that, that of the former is better.
Jollof is a celebrated dish hugely popular in countries such as Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cameroon, with Ghana and Nigeria claiming to have the best version on the continent.
''There is no way Nigerian Jollof rice could be better than the Ghanaian Jollof which I bought for lunch today from Dollar Rice on Oxford Street in Osu. Tell me I’m wrong, @AusHCAbuja. #JollofWars,'' read one of Andrews' tweets after he bought Jollof rice from the local eatery Dollar Rice in Osu in Accra for lunch.
The tweets caused some controversy as expected with Ghanaians largely backing his statement, and Nigerian being angry at him.
"I am just being honest about how good Ghanaian Jollof is," Andrews explained in an interview with Selorm Helen. "If I was offered Nigerian Jollof, I'd definitely taste it but I know it won't be good as Ghanaian Jollof. It's impossible for it to be better."
In other news, Ghanaian actress and video vixen, Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, has now turned into a 'preacher'.
It looks like the 90-day sentence has really impacted Akuapem Poloo's activities on social media. After her release from jail after securing bail, Akaupem Poloo has now been behaving well on social media.
On Sunday, April 25, 2021, the actress released a prayerful post dressed in all-white.
In the photo in the post sighted by YEN.com.gh, Akuapem Poloo was looking up. With her caption of the photo, she vowed to fulfil the promise she made to God. She wrote, "O God, I will offer you what I have promised; I will give you my offering of thanksgiving Psalm 56:12."
