An unfortunate incident has occurred at Gomoa Dominase after a Police Constable stationed at the District Command was stabbed and stoned.

In a report filed by StarrNews, the police constable whose name is yet to be known is in a critical condition after some irate youth attacked him.

Confirming the incident, Police Commander, DSP David Osei Fofie revealed his man was attacked at the scene he was deployed to discharge his duty.

According to DSP Fofie, the Dominase police had a distress call from Gomoa Amoanda that a motor snatcher was a target of mob attack.

He said a police team including the injured constable were deployed to the scene to restore calm.

Unfortunately for the police team, the irate youth transferred their anger to them, pelting them with stones and beer bottles, injuring the police officer in the process.

The victim is said to have been stabbed in some parts of his body.

In other news, a man has reportedly killed his girlfriend at Shama-Kumasi in the Western region, YEN.com.gh has gathered.

According to a report filed by graphic.com.gh, the 42-year-old man identified as Papa Gyapi used a hammer in committing the ghastly act after the said girlfriend allegedly denied him sex.

The deceased is identified only as Rita, 27. Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, confirmed the incident.

The police, she said, rushed to the scene upon a tipoff from an eyewitness. The suspect's room was locked when they got to the scene.

But he could be seen through the window wielding a hammer and threatening harm to anyone who dared break into the room.

“The police were left with no option than to force the door open, overpower Papa Gyabi, and disarm and effect his arrest,” DSP Adiku said.

The deceased body was found lying in a pool of blood with the head smashed upon entering the room, she said.
