Ghanaian musician, Kuami Eugene, has finally reacted to claims by one Kofi Boakye that he is his father.
In an exclusive interview with YEN.com.gh’s Philip Abutiate, Kuami Eugene said he does not know the man from Adam.
According to him, he was very disappointed when the news started making rounds that Boakye was his father and that he has neglected him.
He disclosed that he has lived with his mother and father since he was a child and so for the media to give attention to someone he knows from nowhere claiming to be his father is disappointing.
Kuami Eugene also described the whole thing as an insult to his parents, reiterating that the media and those spreading that rumour are being insensitive.
He added that the man keeps making those claims because some people somewhere might be encouraging him to do that, while the media keep granting him the platform to make more views.
The said Kofi Boakye was in the news claiming that the musician’s name is not Kwame but Kofi, adding that he named his ‘son’ after himself.
According to him, Kuami Eugene’s mother absconded with him to Accra when he was very little and they lived in Oda.
He said he had informed the musician’s mother that he was going to seek greener pastures in a nearby town only for him to return to meet their absence.
Boakye was also in the news recently when he claimed that despite the effort to reach out to his ‘son’, Kuami Eugene kept neglecting him and would not even answer his calls.
This, he complained, was giving him high blood pressure.
In an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, the man mentioned Kuami Eugene’s ‘real date of birth’.
However, now, from the musician’s own mouth, Kofi Boakye is not his father.
