A man who has claimed to be the father of Ghana’s top musician, Kuami Eugene, has popped up from nowhere to make some revelations about him.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the man, who gave his name as Kofi Boakye, said he is the real or biological father of Kuami Eugene.

According to him, his son was not born on Saturday as his name suggests, but rather on Friday, for which reason he named him after himself – Kofi Boakye. Kofi is the Akan name for a male child.

He added that Kuami Eugene is not 21 as is widely known, but he was born in 1989, meaning that he is 31 going on 32.

Mr. Kofi Boakye says he is 60 years and married Kuami Eugene’s mother some 30 something years ago.

While they lived in Oda in the Eastern Region, life became hard for them and so he decided to leave for another town to work there and return to his family later.

However, he came to meet the absence of his former wife moving away with their son to Accra. According to him, one Mr. Marfo married off the woman and he took her and their son away from him.

To this end, Kofi Boakye said Kuami Eugene’s name is not Marfo, and that that name is the name of his stepfather.

He also revealed that attempts to get in touch with his wife and son after he returned proved futile and got even worse after he became a top music star.

Kofi Boakye said Kuami Eugene’s mother blocked him from gaining access to his son so much so that he had to walk into the studios of Peace FM to beg for his contact before calling him.

Boakye's narration has sparked massive reactions from some who have seen the video. While others believe his story, some think he is simply telling lies.

Naa, for instance, wrote plainly that Kofi Boakye is telling lies:

naa_shikakpakpa: "The man is lying."

Noah somehow believes the story and advised the man to go beg his son for support if that is what he needs and stop disgracing himself:

noah_adabia: "If you need help go ask him and stop disgracing yourself."

Mama Adwoa does not believe at all:

mamaadwoa: "Why I don't believe he's your son?"

Meanwhile, Kuami Eugene is one of Ghana's biggest musicians so far.
