Organisers of #FixTheCountry Meet With Ministers, Security Chiefs, Others Ahead Of May 9 Demo; Details Drop

Organisers of the #FixTheCountry campaign have met with government representatives and security officials on Thursday, May 7, 2021.

The meeting between the #FixTheCountry representatives and government officials was to discuss matters concerning a planned demonstration.

According to Efia Odo, one of the leaders of the movement, the group was to meet the Inspector General of Police (IGP) James Oppong- Boanuh at 9:00 am.

On their way to the meeting, they were informed that the meeting was going to be held with the National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah.

Later, Efia Odo added, it turned out that the meeting had other government representatives including the Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, Minister of Interior, Ambrose Dery, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.

Others included Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, Attorney General, Godfred Dame, Director-General of National Communication Authority (NCA), Joe Anokye.

About 10 other people from various national security institutions were also present.

From her tweet, Efia Odo suggested that the protest scheduled for May 9 will be held as planned.
