Sarkodie championed Ghana and Nigeria music relations - Don Jazzy's Promotions Lead asserts

Isaiah Michael, the Promotions Lead for Don Jazzy's Mavin Records has credited Sarkodie as an individual who championed music relations between Ghana and Nigeria.

His comment comes after YEN.com.gh reported on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, that Laycon, the winner of the reality show, Big Brother Naija (BBN) season five has heaped praises on Sarkodie for having a great influence on his career.

In an interview with YEN.com.gh, Isaiah Michael applauded Sarkodie on his impact, and called him "a legend."

"For me, I personally think Sarkodie was one of the Ghanaian artistes that championed Nigeria and Ghana's relationship with music. The features that he's had with Nigerian artistes over time. That created a cordial relationship with the Nigerian and Ghanaian music industry," said Michael

"At one time, he was that link with regular features that he had with Nigerian artistes. I think he was able to create a seamless relationship between Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes. Sark's the guy. He's been there. He's done it. He's a legend."

Laycon previously spoke about Sarkodie influencing his career during an interview on TV3's Showbiz 360 entertainment show.

He shared moments including Sarkodie's freestyle on the Tim Westwood show that he says are pivotal to developing his music career.

"Definitely, I'd rate him as one of the people who has influenced my rap. In those days of rap attack featuring Vector... and that was when I was in the university by the way. I absorbed his music," Laycon proudly stated.
