Thomas Partey is due to return to court on September 2, 2025, as his high-profile legal case in the United Kingdom enters a crucial stage.

The midfielder now faces six charges: five of non-consensual acts and one of sexual assault involving three women.
The alleged incidents are reported to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.
Partey reappears in court: What are the possible outcomes of his case?
Partey made his first court appearance on August 5, 2025, at Westminster Magistrates' Court. The session lasted less than 15 minutes.
According to Sky Sports, he was not asked to plead but only to confirm that he understood the charges and the conditions of his bail. He was later granted conditional release.
Through his lawyer, Jenny Wiltshere, Partey has firmly denied all accusations, maintaining his innocence.
His case has since been moved to the Crown Court, with the Old Bailey now set to oversee proceedings.
According to the Sentencing Council, unlike Magistrates’ Courts, which handle preliminary matters, the Crown Court deals with trial hearings or formal pleas.
At this stage, several outcomes are possible. Partey may be asked to enter a plea, his bail terms could be reviewed, or the matter might be adjourned to allow both legal teams more time.
With the Old Bailey being one of the UK’s most prominent courts, this hearing marks a significant step in the legal process.
Balancing courtroom uncertainty with Black Stars duty
Away from the courtroom, Partey’s name still features prominently on Ghana’s squad list for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Otto Addo has included the midfielder in his team for the crucial doubleheader against Chad and Mali.
Here's Otto Addo's 24-man squad:
Ghana travels to N'Djamena on the same day as Partey’s court date, September 2, before facing Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Deby Itno. The Black Stars then meet Mali in Accra on September 8.
Partey’s presence in midfield remains vital. With 12 goals and two assists in his last 12 appearances, he has been at the heart of Ghana’s campaign.

However, the uncertainty surrounding his court case has left many wondering whether he will be able to link up with his teammates on time.
For now, both fans and officials can only wait to see if Partey will step off the plane in N'Djamena straight from a courtroom in London.
