In the last 10 years, many Ghanaians have been stunned by the deaths of several important personalities.
The departed include many Ghanaian politicians that we looked up to help make Ghana a better place:
1. John Evans Atta Mills
The former President died on the 24th of July 2012 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. He was 68.
2. Alhaji Aliu Mahama
3. Kwadwo Baah Wiredu
The former finance minister died on the 26th of September 2008. He was 56.

4. Joseph Boaakye Danquah-Adu
The former member of parliament for Abuakwa North died on February 9, 2016. He was 50.
5. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey
The former information minister and New Patriotic Party (NPP) national chairman died on March 20, 2016, in the United Kingdom. He was 70.
6. Paul Victor (PV) Obeng
The former chairman of the National Development Planning Commission died on May 17, 2014. He was 66.
7. Prof. Kofi Awoonor
The famed poet and former chairman of the council of state died on September 21, 2013. He was 78.

8. Adams Mahama
The former Upper East NPP regional chairman died on May 21, 2015. He was 49.
9. Henry Ford Kamel
The former Volta Regional minister died on December 25, 2012. He was 51.
10. Dan Lartey
The founder and chairman of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) died on December 28, 2009. He was 83.
