Lil Win, Dan Kwaku Yeboah Mourn as Weezy Empire Actor Apaluca Dies

Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, aka Lil Win, has announced the passing of his colleague Apaluca.

Apaluca, whose real name is James Owusu Ansah, reportedly passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
Lil Win shared a video on social media confirming the tragic news of Apaluca's passing. On TikTok, Lil Win's manager, Akwadaa Nyame, also confirmed the news, saying,
"It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we, at #WezzyEmpire, confirm the passing of our beloved actor and friend, James Owusu Ansah, known as Apaluca."
In Lil Win's video, he couldn't tell the cause of Apaluca's death.
The renowned Kumawood actor lamented about the inconvenient timing of his loss.
"Why have you gone at this time? I'm about to release my new music, and you'd have all benefited from it," Lil Win said.
Apalo was famed for his unique stature, as well as his comic and dancing talent. He featured as an extra in several of Lil Win's web series, including Debony.

The comic sensation has been seen with Lil Win on stage several times, joining forces with other stars like Kwame Ahenfie in the Weezy Empire camp.
Dan Kwaku Yeboah eulogises Apaluca
Apaluca, also known as Apalo, gained significant recognition for his craft. His tragic passing has thrown the Kumawood community into gloom, including fans, colleagues, and other industry insiders.
Ghanaian sports personality, Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Head of Sports, Despite Media and former spokesperson, GFA Normalisation Committee, shared a touching tribute in honour of Apaluca.
In his tribute, he described the diminutive actor as a humble soul.

Adom TV's Okyeame Amoako Darkwa dies
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that media personality Okyeame Amoako Darkwa of Adom FM and Adom TV passed away.
Amoako Darko died on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, after a tiresome health battle, as per unconfirmed reports.
He was once a morning show host at Takoradi-based radio station, Kyzz FM and the Operations Manager at Good News FM. He also worked as the head of Programmes at Shaft FM in Obuasi.
